Responsible Tourism Hub
Coming Soon: A Dedicated Member Support Area for Sustainable, Achievable and Meaningful Tourism
The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) is developing a Responsible Tourism Hub. This will be a practical and inspiring space specifically for self-catering businesses in Scotland.
The hub will aim to support members on their journey towards more sustainable, inclusive, and climate-conscious tourism and is part of the ASSC’s commitment to Responsible Tourism, which means making better places for people to live, and better places for people to visit – now and in the future.
What is Responsible Tourism?
Responsible Tourism is an umbrella term that brings together:
- Sustainable Tourism – reducing environmental impact, supporting local economies, and protecting natural and cultural heritage
- Inclusive & Accessible Tourism – creating experiences that welcome all guests, regardless of age, background, or ability
- Climate Action – reducing emissions, building resilience, and contributing to Scotland’s net zero goals
At its heart, Responsible Tourism is about taking ownership of tourism’s impact and actively working to make it positive for guests, communities, businesses, and the planet.
What We’ve Learned So Far
